DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO TRANSPORT PETS IN SWEDEN

Pet transport to or within Sweden must comply with EU regulations and Swedish national rules.

At Animal Transport EU, we manage all veterinary paperwork, customs procedures, and travel checks to make the process simple and stress-free.

DOG AND CATS

For dogs and cats entering Sweden, the requirements include:

EU Pet Passport or Animal Health Certificate.

Microchip identification compliant with ISO 11784/11785.

Rabies vaccination, given at least 21 days before travel.

Tapeworm (Echinococcus) treatment for dogs, mandatory if entering from certain risk countries.

Veterinary certificate confirming the animal is fit for travel.

We coordinate with the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) to ensure all steps are correctly fulfilled

BIRDS

Bird transport into Sweden requires:

A veterinary health certificate issued shortly before departure.
