PET TRAVEL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR LUXEMBOURG

To transport pets into or within Luxembourg, you must follow all national and EU animal health regulations.

We handle the entire process - from veterinary visits to customs clearance - to ensure full compliance before your pet travels.

For dogs and cats travelling to or within Luxembourg, the following are required:

EU Pet Passport or official Animal Health Certificate issued by an authorised veterinarian

Valid rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days before entry

ISO-compliant microchip (11784/11785)

Tapeworm (Echinococcus) treatment for dogs coming from risk-listed countries

Veterinary clinical examination confirming the animal is fit to travel

We manage all appointments and submit the required documentation to the Administration des services vétérinaires (Luxembourg Veterinary Authority) to guarantee approval.

DOG AND CATS

For birds, Luxembourg requires:

Veterinary health certificate issued within 48 hours of travel

CITES permits for protected or exotic species (parrots, cockatoos, macaws, etc.)

Prior notification to Luxembourg veterinary border authorities

Possible quarantine for birds entering from non-EU countries

Rabbits and rodents do not require rabies vaccination but must be clinically healthy

A maximum of 5 animals can travel together in non-commercial transport
